A split output 8 coil pickup designed as a replacement for MM & O.L.P style Bass Guitars with 3 outputs, all in humbucking mode. Featuring full Earth shielding & 8 individual Hand Scatter wound, (reverse wound, reverse polarity) matched coils. The Pickup is very quiet in operation with an absolute minimum of cross talk between strings.

The pickup has a near transparent bass response, giving a precise, full & detailed tone.  With this extended version of our standard 8 coil, different output configurations are available on this pickup in full humbucking mode.

These outputs are as follows

1. Split-P mode, front row on strings E & A, back row on strings D & G  (enhanced bass & treble)

2. Reverse S-P mode, front row on strings D & G, back row on strings E & A  (lighter bass & treble)

3. All 8 coils 

These 3 outputs are accessible through either 2 volume pots or a mega switch selector 

This pickup is suited to higher quality Instruments as the tone woods used in a Bass Guitar play a big part in the overall tonal qualities with a pickup of this type fitted.

This pickup can be wired passively in a similar layout as a jazz bass or can be used with the factory MM electronics, using a selector switch to access the different outputs. 

PLEASE NOTE: The split 8 coil pickup sits deeper in a Bass Guitar than a standard MM type humbucker. Instruments require a pickup cavity with a minimum 25 mm depth to use the split 8 coil pickup. To use this type of pickup in a standard Instrument, may require a reworking of the pickup cavity, please contact us for more information.

ALL Herrick pickups are supplied with fixing screws & metal coil springs. We strongly advise against using a FOAM type cushioning under our pickups as FOAM can distort or damage the pickup covers we produce & interfere with the pickup's ability to function correctly.
